OCCA ROCK

9:00pm

Occarock is one of the top north coast crowd pullers gigging. Although only a Trio, Occarock are a Power Trio. Every Gig, punters are amazed and gob smacked about the huge sound the band and the intense, 'in your face Rock' they deliver. As the word "Occa" best describes Australian, that is exactly what this band majority covers—Good Aussie rock!!

Australian rock has developed over the years to become a major player in today's international music industry. The nurturing and testing ground for most of those acts was the Australian Pub scene. For years the guys have been listening to stories from audience members on how they used to go and see acts such as AC/DC, INXS, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, and many others perform in local pubs and clubs. What better way to pay tribute to these acts than to try and keep the Pub scene alive with the music that it was built on.

The repertoire consists of classic's from the 60's through to today, and as one happy publican was quoted to say: "every person in the room knew each one of the songs—what a great concept!" And it is a great concept, because Aussie rock has it own edge!. It represents all of us, and reflects the emotions of our nation at the time. And what is the best way to celebrate it, than to pay tribute to it. Along with some International artists, that really we had to play to pay homage to some of our personal influences.

HECKYL & JIVE

9:00pm

Who are these monsters, these abominations of the rock and pop underworld, these icons of all that is percussive, melodic and …occasionally demonic?

Ally Ray … high-energy front woman, extrovert, exotic dancer, wardrobe mistress, make-up artist, mimicker of many, manager and alluring centrepiece

Martin Robinson … young blood, blues-based Six-stringer who picks from the hip, sings from the heart and delivers on demand

Kane Dorrington … beautifully illustrated, popper and slapper of renown, delivers riffs and melodies from the nether regions of his soul with all the style and panache of a battle-scarred four-stringer.

Jack Eyles … hitter of circular shapes, beater of plastic velum, seasoned time-keeper, voice from afar and … driver of the van

If you want 'em, they're yours for the night. A phone call, a request, a response and a modest fee, and they will play anywhere, anytime, to anyone. It is not only bums on seats they want; they demand feet on floors, jiving (in or out of time) to the diverse range of songs and sounds they deliver with pizzazz
